Women in Charge: Wellbeing and Leadership Strategies - A Transformative Experience

"Before becoming the leader of its garden, the rose goes through a journey of growth, from a hidden seed to reaching the fullness of its bloom. On this path, it faces storms and droughts, growing among thorns that teach it to protect itself and persevere. Thus, a leader, like the rose, must nurture its resilience and wisdom, overcoming obstacles and learning from each experience, demonstrating that true leadership flourishes in adversity, leading by example and inspiring with its strength and innate beauty."
Welcome to my blog. I am Aura Villa, and I recently had the honor of participating in an unforgettable event that celebrated the power and resilience of women in leadership. The event, a women’s circle titled “Women in Charge: Strategies for Wellbeing and Leadership,” took place in the lovely city of Santa Clara, in commemoration of International Women’s Day.
This gathering was an opportunity to come together, share experiences, philosophies such as Kabbalah and the importance of celebrating Purim, and learn from each other about how to navigate the challenges we face in the world of leadership. Through my participation, I shared some of the personal struggles I have faced along my path, emphasizing the importance of women’s circles as safe spaces for growth and mutual support.
The Importance of Women's Circles
During the event, we had the opportunity to delve deeper into how women’s circles offer a refuge for vulnerability, strength, and collective wisdom. These spaces allow us to be heard, validate our experiences, and find creative solutions to common challenges, thus strengthening our individual and collective leadership.
Facing the Difficulties
I spoke about the importance of Holistic Leadership, including restrictive societal expectations in the area of entrepreneurship and glass ceilings in the professional field. However, I emphasized how, through solidarity and mutual support, we can overcome these obstacles together.
Holistic Leadership
A key part of our discussions revolved around holistic leadership, an approach that considers the comprehensive well-being of people, including emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects. This approach, promoted by inspiring leaders such as Brenda, Catalina, Mirna Pineda, and Mary Mora, who also shared their valuable perspectives, highlights the importance of leading with empathy, integrity, and compassion.
Reconnections and New Encounters
Community
The event was not only a space for learning and reflection, but also for the celebration of friendship and connection. I was very happy to meet friends again and have the opportunity to meet new people who share a commitment to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment, and thanks to the entire community and friends who joined us.
Final Reflections
Participating in this women's circle in Santa Clara was a deeply enriching experience that reaffirmed my belief in the power of female solidarity and holistic leadership. I leave with a heart full of hope and a renewed determination to continue advocating for a more equal world, where the voices of all women are heard and valued.
Thank you to all the attendees and organizers for making this event such a special moment. Together, we are forging a path to a brighter future for all.
Until next time,
Aura Villa
